Newt Gingrich’s response to proposition 8 being ruled unconstitutional.
Does he understand how checks and balances work?

One of the most fundamental aspects of a democracy is an independent judiciary. There are a lot of problems with our justice system but the fact that it’s independent is not one of them. Newt doesn’t want nor does he care about democracy and that’s been evident since day one of this guy.

Newt Gingrich doesn’t even really know what’s saying (ever) or rather, he doesn’t care what it means but knows what sort of red meat drives the GOP wild. Studies have consistently shown that conservative judges are far more likely to engage in judicial activism, but that supports a radical right-wing agenda so its not a problem or “judicial supremacy”. The only type of out of control judiciary Republicans care about is the type that’s out of their control.
If a proposition supporting marriage equality passed, Republicans would be calling for exactly this type of oversight from the courts to undo it.
